The Transforming 50k Lives Campaign, launched in 2014 to support UWS to build and sustain its central infrastructure, has been a huge success thanks to the generosity and hard work of UWS supporters.
We are thrilled to announce that we are just £60,000 away from our target of raising £1 million. We now have two months left to close the campaign. If you would like to help us reach this target but need a little inspiration, here are some fundraising ideas that some of our supporters have shared with us:
Five Fundraising Ideas to Help Teach the Unreached
Fundraise for a sports challenge with work colleagues. This could be anything from a half-marathon, a hula hoop challenge or a bike ride, to a bungee jump or sky dive.
Host a South Asian food night for friends. Fundraise by selling tickets or hosting a prize auction.
Coordinate a themed dress-up day at work. Arrange for colleagues to either pay or be sponsored to dress up.
Organise a ‘book-swap’ with an entry fee. Invite friends to bring along their favourite books and exchange them to raise money and show how valuable literacy really is.
Organise a fundraising quiz-night. This could tie in with a dinner or auction, and participants could pay a fee to take part.
