Volunteering at UWS has shown me the value of intercultural learning, conflict resolution and poverty reduction… Everyday I see and learn how this can be applied and committed to in everyday life. I’m proud to be part of the UWS movement.

Why Volunteer in a UWS School?
UWS volunteers are helping to change the lives of children in Cambodia right now. Volunteers can lead in-country education projects, assist the UWS team in monitoring and evaluating our schools or devising new ways of raising the educational bar.
If you are inspired by your schools work with UWS and want to have a tangible impact on those who are less fortunate than yourself then you should apply.
We believe a volunteering placement with UWS not only helps those in our UWS Schools, but also provides new skills and leadership development opportunities to our volunteers. We know time is precious. So use yours to do something important.
Who Can Volunteer in a UWS School?
We take up to 6 volunteers a year from any of our [UWS Partner Schools][//who-we-are/our-partner-schools/]. All placements are currently in Cambodia but we hope to offer additional volunteer places in Nepal by 2016 / 17. We ask all volunteers to be over the age of 17 and to commit to at least 12 weeks of teaching in their UWS School.
We review applications three times a year with the deadlines shown in the table below. Applicants can expect to hear the outcome within two weeks of the application closing date.
Applicants who are successful through stage one will be invited for a Skype interview before final confirmation of a volunteering place.

There is no cost to volunteering with UWS but all volunteer trips are self-funded. UWS will help source safe and cheap accommodation for volunteers and in-country living costs remain remarkably low.
We are lucky to receive a number of volunteer applications while only having limited spots available. We select volunteers based on who will have the biggest impact at their UWS School; either by the skills they currently possess, the amount they will raise or their ability to champion our mission.
Prior to volunteering, but not necessarily before applying, we ask all applicants to have gained some teaching experience in a Primary School. This can be through shadowing a Primary Teacher in the volunteer’s home country for a week.
To apply please contact a member of the UWS team at [email protected] and include a CV and Cover Letter with details of:
Why you would like to volunteer with UWS
Which Partner School you currently go to/were educated at
When you would like to volunteer and how flexible you can be on dates
What skills or experience can you offer such as developing music, sports or art programmes for students
What your fundraising target for UWS would be prior to your trip
How you would be a long term ambassador for UWS
